Nickname from many years ago.
DJ Biography / overview / Bit about yourself and how you got into Djing and where you have played:
Started messing around with records in the late eighties with two flat music systems. One plugged into aux. As a 13 year old playing about with all sorts of music at the time and my parents record collection predominantly 70's funk.In 1992 was given my first set of turntables (Citronic Performers and a Soundlab mixer plugged into my Sharp flat music system). When I got to play on 1200s was amazing.Buying records that I could get my hands on influenced by the pirate radio stations/parties and raves.Playing out at various parties, pubs and clubs local to me from 94 through to 98. Went travelling in the middle east and far east from 98 until 2004 and partied where I could.2004 - 2010 I got more into production, creating more abstract electronic type stuff with a mate.2014 I got back into spinning music and have been back on it since then. I play a few regular radio shows.I play Jungle and DnB mostly but dabble in other sounds.I have been releasing music since 2023 and have material out on Locked Up Music, Amen Warfare Records, Sample Culture London and Compound Dubz. I have plans to release more music going forward.
What or who are your influences to play what you play?
I draw from so many influences.I tend to play how I'm feeling, or how the vibe is. However, I am influenced by Bukem and many other greats including lots of my mates.
What other intrests or hobbies do you have apart from Energy1058?
I am a gardener and enjoy the great outdoors. I am happily married and we have two fluffy kids. I like messing about with my motorbikes and chainsaws etc. Oh, I like eating as well and sitting very still for hours on end deep in contemplation.
